Ziricote
Ziricote is one of the most spectacular exotic hardwoods in the world — dark brown to almost black with a distinctive spider-webbing or landscape figure that looks like aerial photography of river deltas. No other wood produces this pattern naturally. The contrast between the dark background and lighter figuring is extraordinary. Dense, hard, and naturally lustrous, it works well with sharp tools and takes a mirror-like finish without any filling. Extremely rare and highly coveted by discerning woodworkers.
