Rainbow Poplar

$4.32

Rainbow Poplar is the most visually striking of the domestic hardwoods — the same species as standard Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) but selected specifically for boards with vivid, saturated streaks of purple, green, yellow, and black running through a creamy white background. No two boards are alike. The color is completely natural, produced by mineral deposits and the tree's own chemistry, and stabilizes beautifully under a clear finish.

Despite its showstopping appearance, Rainbow Poplar is still one of the easiest domestic hardwoods to work with — it machines cleanly, takes nails and screws without splitting, and finishes well. An excellent choice for accent panels, jewelry boxes, cutting boards, and any project where the wood itself is the statement.
