Bocote

Bocote is a showstopper — golden to olive-brown with dramatic dark brown to black streaks and swirling figure that makes every board look like a work of art. No two pieces are remotely alike. It machines well despite its density, takes an excellent natural finish, and is highly resistant to rot. The figure is so dramatic that it's often used in small statement pieces where the wood itself is the design. A premium choice for boxes, handles, and turnings where detail work showcases the grain.
